PlayStation 5
- Back up save data to PS Plus cloud or USB
- Go to Settings > Users and Accounts > Other > Console Sharing and Offline Play > Disable
- Sign out of PlayStation Network
- Settings > System > System Software > Reset Options > Reset Your Console
- Deactivate as your primary PS5 via the website if needed
Xbox Series X|S
- Back up games and saves to Xbox cloud (automatic with Xbox Live)
- Go to Settings > System > Console Info > Reset Console
- Choose "Reset and remove everything"
Nintendo Switch
- Transfer save data to a new Switch if applicable
